Superior Child Care is...
Located at Level 1 (Locker) Floor of the Cliff Lodge in Snowbird.
Children thrive when they receive plenty of personal attention—being held, comforted, talked to, and rocked. For children under 24 months, we maintain a ratio of 2–3 children per caregiver. For children ages 2 and older, we strive to maintain a ratio of 6–8 children per teacher, allowing every child to receive attentive, responsive care.
We offer, TOP Star rated, morning snack, lunch and afternoon snack. The meals are a variety of options, kid approved and tasty. We know the importance of feeding our children healthy and nutritious food, which is why we strive to purchase organic and GMO free products whenever possible.
At Superior Child Care, we are committed to providing exceptional, flexible, and high-quality childcare that nurtures each child's individuality while fostering creativity and adventure. With a seamless blend of fun, education, and reliable care offered 7 days a week, our seasonal and year-round programs ensure children are inspired and supported as their families enjoy everything Snowbird has to offer.

Everything includes: Quality child care with low caregiver-to-child ratios, nutritious lunch and snacks, and an entire day full of fun!
Flexible Scheduling at Our Childcare Center
Our reservation system currently allows you to select full-day, mid-day, or any 4 hours of care. If you’d like a mix of options, the easiest approach is to reserve full-day childcare for all the days you might need, because you’ll only pay for the actual time your child is in care at the end of your stay. We know plans can change—especially on vacation—so our childcare program is designed to give families maximum flexibility and peace of mind.
Flexible Reservations
If you book a mid-day but realize you need a full day, you can easily extend your reservation at any time. Our pay-as-you-go system means you’ll only be billed for the hours actually used. This gives you freedom to plan your vacation without worrying about rigid schedules.
Let’s be honest—your little one is our favorite “collateral.” They’ll have so much fun, and you’ll love the flexibility just as much as we do!
Single-Day Options
-
Full-Day Care: Enjoy up to 8 hours of care between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.—perfect for a full day on the mountain.
-
Mid-Day Care: Care from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.—ideal for families looking for a solid stretch of childcare. Children may take home a snack bag for later.
-
Any 4 Hours: Choose any four consecutive hours during the day—our most flexible option for fitting childcare around your plans.
-
Sibling Discount: Families receive 20% off care for each additional sibling.
Prepaid Packages
We've simplified our package system to provide greater flexibility for families throughout the winter season.
Instead of purchasing separate Full Day, Midday, or 4-Hour packages, families can now purchase credits that may be used toward any reservation type. This allows you to choose the childcare option that best fits your plans each day while using a single package balance.
Credits are automatically deducted based on the reservation selected and can be used throughout the winter season, subject to availability. Benefits of the new credit system include:
- One package for all reservation types
- Greater flexibility as your schedule changes
- Easy online tracking of remaining credits
- The freedom to mix and match reservation options throughout the season
Credits are non-refundable and expire one year from when the pass was purchased. Families are responsible for monitoring their remaining balance and ensuring sufficient credits are available when making reservations. Check out our official Credits Package Announcement page.
Siblings can share any prepaid package, making these options ideal for families with multiple children.
Reservations can be made at Superior Childcare or Alta Children's Center at Alta ski resort.
These rates are for the Winter Ski Season of 2026-27 from December 1 - April 18. Unlike other ski resort childcare facilities, Superior Childcare has a large space of 2500 square feet. Our $30 deposit is nonrefundable but can be moved to a different day if travel plans change. We are not affiliated with Snowbird and do not have access to their Mountain School reservations. Please contact them directly to book all ski lessons.

On days when avalanche mitigation is scheduled, the road to Superior Childcare at Snowbird may temporarily close and typically reopens around 8:30 a.m. This may slightly delay our opening. As soon as the road is clear and our staff members have arrived safely, we’ll send a message from our center phone confirming that we’re ready to welcome your children. OUR SATISFIED CUSTOMERS
As a parent, I know the value of hearing from families their experiences & offer a genuine glimpse into the care we provide.
Ilse and her staff are AMAZING. As a new mom, it was a bit nerve-wracking to think about choosing someone to care for my child. However, my son has thrived under Ilse's care. She carefully selects her employees and ensures that they are well-trained, caring, and responsible. I am so thankful for the care she provides my son, and I enthusiastically recommend her to anyone.
- Bethany F.
